The Farah Khan-directed film, which told the story of a bunch of losers who reunite for a heist, released in India and traditional overseas markets in October.
Other than SRK, the film had Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood and Vivaan Shah in key roles.
The film was cleared by State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television (SAARFT) China on January 1 for its nationwide release.
'Happy New Year' will have a wide release in 5000 screens across the country over the Chinese New Year Weekend.
Another Bollywood film that will release in China this year is Aamir Khan's 'PK'.
