Both the parties have been running an aggressive advertisement campaign using various forms of the media, including the regional TV channels.
Former Chief Minister Om Parkash Chautala-led INLD has been targeting the Congress over alleged Change of Land Use (CLU) scams, unemployment, corruption, law and order situation, lopsided development and other issues, with their advertisements, carrying the punchline slogan "10 Saalo se Golibaazo ki Gulabi Gang Sarkaar".
The INLD has also been using the phrase "Gulabi Gang" during its rallies and in other publicity material, in an apparent attack on the Hooda-led government, with the Chief Minister often preferring pink color for headgears.
On the other hand, the advertisements issued by the state unit of the Congress have been using the term "Tihar Gang" against INLD, in an apparent reference to conviction of its leaders in the junior basic trained teachers' case.

"Haryana ko Tihar Gang se bachana hai," say the advertisements of the Congress.
When asked to comment on the Gulabi Gang term used by the INLD in its campaign to hit out at the Congress, Hooda told reporters here, "pink colour represents happiness".
"Today, Haryana is prosperous, we have undertaken development and taken the state to new heights. They (INLD) are trying to mislead the people.
