This compensation has been fixed through crop-cutting experiments of claim crops by considering the average yield as the base, Dhankar said.
The minister said all insured farmers in villages which have registered low yield as compared to pre-determined production will be given compensation on the basis of their insured sown area.
The amount of compensation is being deposited directly into the bank accounts of farmers, he said.
Dhankar said the process is underway for carrying out insurance of Rabi 2016-17 crops, under which insurance of wheat, gram, mustard and barley crops has been done.
Dhankar said under this scheme, the farmers neither required to make rounds of offices nor have to pass through any process.
For Rabi crops, insurance of 5.75 lakh farmers has been done, he added.
