Haryana School Education Department said it has dismissed the services of Sadhu Ram, a headmaster of a government school Khairoli in district Mohindragarh in pursuance of orders by the court of Additional Session Judge Jind.
The court has convicted head master Sadhu Ram and awarded rigorous imprisonment of one year and fine of Rs 10,000 for shielding the culprit in a case, an official spokesperson said.
He said on the complaint of a girl student of government High School, Frain Kalan, Jind, a criminal case was registered at police station Narwana Sadar, Jind against the accused school master Rajender under various sections of Arms Act and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012.
Sadhu Ram had allegedly been shielding the culprit, whereas, it was expected from him to set high standards of integrity, probity and rectitude especially pertaining to protection of the girl students in the precincts of a school being the head of the school, the official said.
In pursuance of court orders, the orders of dismissal were passed as the act leading to a conviction was such as could shock the "moral conscience" of society, he further added.
