Severe harassment is prevalent in AIIMS cardio-neuro centre and the work pressure on the nurses is not only due to shortage of staff but also due to "arbitrariness and power harassment" by senior officials, observed a human rights organisation, Pragatisheel Mahila Sangathan (PMS).
Members from Delhi state committee of Pragatisheel Mahila Sangathan recently visited AIIMS to understand the working conditions of staff nurses following the suicide by a staff nurse working in the cardio-neuro centre.
The nurse in her sucide note had said that she was very upset with her transfer.
The fact finding team recommended that the officials responsible for shifting of duties of sister Moily from ICU to private ward should be suspended prior to any inquiry and also to ensure that an impartial probe takes place in the matter.
