Hardcore Maoist surrenders in Bihar

Superintendent of Police Manu Maharaj said that Maoist cadre - Pappu Tiwary alias Sushil Tiwary - gave himself up before Rohtas police with a local made riffle and 10 cartridges.

Maharaj said Tiwary decided to join the social mainstream under the influence of the rehabilitation programme for Maoists going on in the district.

Tiwary, carrying a cash award of Rs 50,000 on his head, was involved in several cases of Naxal attacks in the district, the police said.
