Sony Music boss Rob Stringer said the studio is "incredibly excited" about the upcoming album, reported Billboard.
"We're close and we're very excited. We have a record we're incredibly excited about and it's not far away from being ready," Stringer said.
"We obviously want everything to be beautifully done, because we think he's here to stay. Harry has stepped up with the vision of someone who's authentic," he added.
Stringer also commented on how a boyband could produce so many individually talented members, going by fellow One Direction solo successes in the form of Niall Horan's "This Town", Louis Tomlinson and Steve Aoki's "Just Hold On" and, Zayn Malik.
"They weren't caricatures. And today, they're making smart choices. It doesn't surprise me that there's is a different path and they're doing pretty well," he said.
