Hartal called by BJP 'incident free'

Barring a minor incident of stone pelting, the 12-hour hartal called byBJPtoday to protest attacks on offices of BMS and RSS in the district allegedly byCPI(M) workers, was "incident free" and near total.
The hartal was 'incident free' and no reports of any untoward incidents were received, police said.
Private buses and autos were off the road due to the strike, while government buses were plying in convoys.
Shops and business establishments downed their shutters.
Government offices and banks remained closed with today being second saturday.
Arrangements were made by the police forpassengers arriving at the railway station and bus stand to reachtheir respective destinations.
BJP sources here alleged that there had been stone-pelting at the residence of party's state secretary V K Sajeevan,in Vadakara.
