Haryana approves Rs 1,213 cr Projects

Haryana Urban Local Bodies Minister Kavita Jain today said the state had approved projects worth Rs 1,213 crore for urban transformation in eight towns.
The 'Detailed Project Reports' were approved by the State High Powered Sanctioning Committee under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) for Ambala, Gurugram, Karnal, Panchkula, Sonepat, Panipat, Thanesar and Yamunanagar.
The Minister, who was presiding over a review meeting of Urban Local Bodies Department here, also directed that Detailed Project Reports be prepared for nine towns of Hisar, Rohtak, Kaithal, Rewari, Bhiwani, Bahadurgarh, Palwal, Sirsa and Jind, an official spokesman said.
She issued directions to install CCTV cameras in all 80 Urban Local Bodies in the State according to norms prescribed by the State Government.
She also directed the urban local bodies to prepare within 15 days proposals for replacing CFL bulbs in streetlights with LED bulbs in all cities, the spokesman said.
Jain also directed the officials to accelerate the pace of implementation of sterilisation programme to tackle the menace of monkeys and stray animals, he said.

Minister said that standard tender document for the survey of properties for GIS mapping had already been circulated among all Municipal Corporations.
She said all Municipal Corporations had been given the power to get the survey of the properties done at their own level.
Referring to provision of Wi-Fi facility in all urban local bodies in the State, she asked for studying the system for providing Wi-Fi facility in schools and colleges.
