Haryana Assembly passes four bills

The Haryana Assembly today passed four bills including Haryana Rural Development (Amendment) Bill 2013.
The four bills passed are the Haryana Rural Development (Amendment) Bill, 2013, the Haryana Municipal Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2013, the Haryana Appropriation (No.1) Bill, 2013 and the Punjab Labour Welfare Fund (Haryana Amendment) Bill, 2013.
However, the House was also informed that the Haryana Private Universities (Amendment) Bill, 2013, which was to be put up for passage, was withdrawn as the state government planned to bring the legislation in a comprehensive form.
The Haryana Rural Development (Amendment) Bill, 2013 was passed to reduce the rural development fee on all vegetables and fruits from two per cent to one per cent.
According to the statement of objects, the Haryana Municipal Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2013 was necessitated as the State Election Commission requires three months more time for conducting elections to the newly constituted municipal corporations in the state.
The Haryana Appropriation (No.1) Bill, 2013 was passed to provide for appropriation out of the Consolidated Fund of the state for the sums required to meet the supplementary grants made by the Legislative Assembly for expenditure of the 2012-13 fiscal.
The Punjab Labour Welfare Fund (Haryana Amendment) Bill, 2013 was passed to make a provision of the post of Vice Chairperson in Haryana Labour Welfare Board.
