Haryana Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Sharma has admitted for tomorrow the main opposition INLD's adjournment motion given on land deals in the state involving businessman Robert Vadra's company.
The Speaker told the House here today that he has admitted the motion on "Skylight hospitality..." for tomorrow. The Speaker did not give any further details regarding the adjournment motion of the INLD or the issues raised in it.
The motion has been given by INLD MLAs Rampal Majra, Ashok Arora, Krishan Panwar and Raghbir Singh.
Earlier this morning, the party members had raised din in the House during the Zero Hour demanding that the motion be immediately taken up.
Despite the state government giving clean chit to Vadra earlier, the Indian National Lok Dal has been alleging that there were irregularities in the land deals involving Vadra's company.
However, the Speaker told them that he had received the motion at 1 pm, just an hour before the Assembly's session began today.
To this, senior INLD leader Abhay Singh Chautala told the Speaker that they had handed over the matter to his staff at 11 am.
The INLD members were pacified after the Speaker told them that he had not rejected the motion. After a brief period, he told the House that the adjournment motion had been admitted and would be taken up tomorrow.
It may be recalled that on October 26 last year, the government had given a clean chit to Vadra, saying he or his companies had not "undervalued" any land registration in the four districts of the state falling in the National Capital Region (NCR) since 2005.
Earlier, senior officer with the state government, Ashok Khemka had ordered cancellation of mutation of land deal between Vadra's company and the DLF.
Meanwhile, the Speaker also admitted the adjournment motion given by Congress MLA, Sampat Singh on the issue that INLD President Om Prakash Chautala, convicted in a teachers recruitment scam and lodged in Tihar jail in Delhi, has no moral right to continue as Leader of Opposition and hold public office.
