Ankur, 24, clinched his first World Cup gold medal by defeating Australia's James Willet in the final of the men's double trap event.
Khattar said that with his outstanding performance at the World Cup, Ankur has brought laurels to the state and the country.
Congratulating Ankur, Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Anil Vij said that his patience and dedication towards his chosen sport would motivate other budding shooters.
He said that Ankur was honoured with Bhim Award last month for his outstanding performance in 2016-17. He said that the state government has been focusing on providing congenial atmosphere to the sportspersons.
Urban Local Bodies Minister Kavita Jain also congratulated Ankur for his achievement and said that he was a role model for the youth.
