The award was announced by District Revenue Officer Ram Singh Bishnoi in presence of the Deputy Commissioner, owners of land, and other officials of the district administration, an official release said.
The compensation will be given at the rate of over Rs 30.73 lakh per acre and those farmers, who do not indulge in litigation in case of acquisition of land, will get Rs four lakh as non-litigation amount.
Under the Land Acquisition Policy of the state government, an annuity of Rs 21,000 per acre would be given for 33 years with an annual increase of Rs 750 which totals about Rs 10.79 lakh.
Thus, the total amount of all these compensations would be Rs 46 lakh per acre.
Deputy Commissioner M L Kaushik also gave away cheques of compensation amount to the farmers of village Gorakhpur.
Kaushik said that in addition to the compensation for land acquired, the farmers would be paid after survey of their standing crops.

Besides, a survey regarding installed tube-wells, trees, kutcha houses and underground pipelines for irrigation would be conducted to compensate the farmers.
He said farmers whose entire land is acquired and if they have no plot at any other place to construct their house, plots would be allotted plots to them for house construction. (MORE)
