Haryana govt approves draft for Saha development

The State level Committee (SLC) which met under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar here today approved a draft development plan for Saha area in Ambala district to build a township at the site.
This new township will cover an area of 2181 acres of land comprising seven sectors and will accommodate a population of about 97,000 for the prospective year 2025, said an official spokesman.
Since, it is an industrial township, an area of 580 acres has been proposed for industrial use, 790 acres for residential use, 310 acres for transport and communication and 120 acres for commercial purposes, he said.
Khattar was informed in the meeting that an over-bridge is proposed at the intersection of Panchkula-Shahabad and Ambala Cantt-Jagadhri roads for smooth and speedy movement of the traffic.
A site of six acres has been earmarked for new bus stand in sector-4 along Ambala-Jagadhari road and 25 acres area for Transport Nagar in sector-1, near industrial sectors on Saha-Shahabad state highway, he said.
Apart from existing 220 KV Sub Stations, area for two more Sub Stations with intensity of 220 KV and 66 KV has been proposed.

An area measuring about 220 acre had been proposed under parks and open spaces including all the green belts along the major roads, he said.
The controlled area was declared on July 1, 2003 around Industrial Growth Centre (IGC), Saha to check haphazard development and to ensure the planned development and which covers an area of 4425 acre.
IGC, Saha is one of the two growth centres allocated to Haryana by the government of India. This centre is developed by Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructural Development Corporation (HSIIDC) at the junction of Ambala-Jagadhari road and Panchkula-Shahabad road junction and due to its central location it is well connected with the surrounding region, he said.
