The Haryana government has constituted a sub-committee under the State Mission Authority (SMA) to monitor and implement various social schemes for empowerment of women in the state.
The sub-committee would extend necessary cooperation to SMA in monitoring as well as implementing social schemes and laws concerning women, an official spokesman said here today.
"It would prepare policy recommendations for the consideration of SMA, and setting up of committee for women empowerment at block and district level," he said.
He said the committee would invite representatives from various departments for convergence and implementation of action plans.
It would meet twice a year, he said, adding, definite time frames will be set to deliver services of the Mission.
The spokesman said the sub-committee would ensure effective implementation of policies and schemes relating to women to remove "structural barriers" in their development.
The SMA had been constituted to empower women and review gender budgeting by ministries in the state.
