Haryana: Govt depts asked to expedite Aadhaar seeding

Government departments in Haryana have been asked to expedite Aadhaar seeding in various schemes for smooth implementation of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
At a meeting with officials of various departments, state Additional Chief Secretary, Electronics and Information Technology, Keshni Anand Arora exhorted them to expedite Aadhaar seeding in various schemes, an official release said here.
Haryana ranks third in the country in terms of Aadhaar saturation with 2,62,24,830 residents or 98 per cent of the projected population of 2,67,66,728 in 2015 having Aadhaar as their identity.
Arora said Aadhaar seeding in flagship DBT schemes like PDS, Kerosene, Direct Benefit of LPG (DBT-L), EPFO, National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP), MGNREGA, Indira Gandhi Matritva Sahyog Yojana (IGMSY) and scholarships was discussed in the meeting.
She said with 98.8 per cent Aadhaar seeding in MGNREGA, Haryana ranks second in the country as 5,72,313 beneficiaries out of a total of 5,79,114 have been linked to the Unique Identification scheme.
In Public Distribution System (PDS), Aadhaar seeding in Haryana is 70.6 per cent with 93,64,539 of 1,32,56,675 records being digitized.

In DBT-L, Aadhaar seeding has been done for 23,91,966 consumers or 75.6 per cent of the total 31,63,254.
In National Social Assistance Programme, 2,78,773 out of 3,21,992 beneficiaries have Aadhaar.
In Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna (PMJDY), Haryana is ranked at ninth position with 71.6 per cent seeding as out of a total of 51,87,683 accounts, 37,15,549 have been linked to the UID scheme.
