The Indira Gandhi Matritav Sehyog Yojna will be launched in Amritsar and Kapurthala districts in the first phase.
"An amount of Rs 11.18 crore will be spent during the current financial year," an official spokesman said here.
Under this scheme, Rs 4,000 will be given to women, above the age of 19, during their first two births, he said.
Rs 3,000 will be given before the birth of child, while remaining Rs 1,000 will be given after the child completes six months.
