The Haryana Government has lifted the ban on the exhibition of Punjabi film 'Saada Haq', based on real-life events during the Khalistan movement in the state.
"The lifting of the ban would be subject to the condition that the observations of Supreme Court and provisions of other applicable laws are compiled with in letter and spirit and only the duly corrected version having certification from Central Board of Film Certification would be exhibited in full conformity to law," an official release said here today.
A notification to this effect has been issued by the Haryana Home Department, the release said.
The movie was banned in Punjab, Delhi, Haryana, Jammu and Chandigarh a day ahead of its earlier scheduled release on April 5. The ban was lifted following the Supreme Court's order.
The film ran into trouble for allegedly glorifying the Khalistan movement. It is set in Punjab of the late 1980s and '90s.
