Haryana government has planned to set up 1,000 citizen service centres, christened as Haryana e-Seva Kendras, across the state to provide quick and hassle-free services to people.
The state government has launched a special drive to deliver at least 80 services across various government departments through electronic mode by end of the current fiscal, a government spokesman said, adding that the services have been shortlisted keeping in mind the involvement of maximum number of citizens.
A pilot project for the purpose has already been launched at some locations in Ambala and Panchkula districts, he said.
The service centres will preferably be set up at panchayat offices in villages to lace their identity with the panchayat system, which would enable the state government to align civil and power infrastructure requirements of these centres with the panchayats, the spokesman said.
Selection of Village Level Entrepreneur (VLEs) for the centres will be done by a committee headed by the Deputy Commissioner, he added.
