Haryana govt recovers power dues worth Rs 46.38 crore

Power utilities in Haryana have recovered Rs 46.38 crore as electricity dues so far after the implementation of the condition pertaining to clearance of outstanding electricity bills by the candidates contesting the fifth General Panchayat Elections.
The Panchayat elections will be held in Haryana on January 10, 17 and 24, 2016.
Of total dues, UHBVN has recovered Rs 19.69 crore and the DHBVN has recovered Rs 26.69 crore before issuing No Dues Certificate (NDC) to such candidates, Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) Managing Director Nitin Yadav gave these details in a statement.
He said Rs 3.74 crore has been recovered by Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) from operation circle Yamuna Nagar, Rs 3.44 crore from operation circle Karnal, Rs 2.81 crore from Kaithal and Rs 2.18 crore from Jhajjar.
Similarly, DHBVN has recovered Rs 6.89 crore from operation circle Hisar, Rs 4.70 crore from operation circle Jind, Rs 3.74 crore from operation circle Bhiwani and Rs 2.78 crore from operation circle Narnaul.
Yadav said for ensuring hassle free services to the candidates, the utilities have established 246 special counters and desks at Sub Divisional Level in all its operation circles throughout the state.
The recent amendment of the Panchayati Raj Act, 1994 has encouraged the people to pay their outstanding electricity bills on time, he added.
