Haryana Govt reduces weightage of interview marks for HSSC

To bring transparency in recruitment process in government jobs, Haryana government has decided to reduce the weightage of interview marks to 12 per cent of total marks.
"To bring more transparency and fairness in the process of recruitment by Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC), it has been decided that interview marks weightage will be 12 per cent of the total marks and written exam shall be of 88 per cent weightage of the total marks," an official release issued yesterday said.
Earlier, the weightage merited to interview marks was between 20-25 per cent.
It has been further decided that the written exam will be divided into two parts in which 75 per cent of the test will comprise general awareness, reasoning, maths, science, English, Hindi.
The remaining 25 per cent will include history, current affairs, literature, geography, civics, environment, culture, etc of Haryana, an official spokesperson said.
Before coming to power, Bharatiya Janata Party had promised to bring transparency and fairness to the recruitment process in government employment.
