Announcing this, while presiding over a review meeting of Urban Local Bodies department here today, the Chief Minister directed the officers to fix a quota for the mayors, deputy mayors and councilors from next financial year.
Khattar said though a sum of Rs 261 crore had been released by his predeccor from his discretionary funds to the urban local bodies, there were some areas where very little amount had been released.
The Chief Minister stressed on execution of integrated solid waste management projects in the cities, on a pilot project basis, in order to make 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' a success.
Khattar also directed the officials to sent requisition to recruitment agencies for filling up of vacant posts in the department, and this should be done on a priority basis to make the working of the department more efficient.

The department should be restructured and its rules, framed way back in 1976, should be suitably amended to suit the present-day needs, the CM said.
The rate of urbanisation was 44.6 per cent during this period against 27.8 per cent in the entire country.
The rate of urbanization in Haryana is almost double, and the migrant population in the NCR has contributed a lot to increasing it further, said the release.
