Haryana Govt signs pact with O P Jindal Univ to draft Edu plan

The Haryana government has signed an MoU with the Sonipat-based O P Jindal Global University to draft the state higher educational plan under the 'Rashtriya Uchchtar Shiksha Abhiyaan (RUSA)' which will cover a period of next 10 years.
The plan will contain physical targets, opportunities and proposals for promoting access, equity and excellence in higher education, a statement issued by the university said.
The Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Higher Education, Vijai Vardhan, and University's Vice Chancellor Professor C Raj Kumar have signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Chandigarh.
The statement said that the university's International Institute for Higher Education, Research and Capacity Building (IIHEd) will undertake this project.
Speaking at the occasion, Haryana's Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma said that education is ought to transform the student into an awakened and enlightened citizen. He pointed out that the objective of drawing up the current plan was to overcome serious challenges in the field of higher education like employability, access and quality.
