The move comes in the wake of allegations of sexual abuse and torture of children and women in the Apna Ghar shelter home in Rohtak.
A total 105 child care institutions in which 4,234 inmates are living and 558 women inmates in 13 women homes are present in the state, Sumita Mishra, Director General, Women and Child Development Department stated in a release here today.
All the institutions have been inspected by the district administration and 89 institutions have applied for the new registrations, Mishra said.
Directions have also been issued to Deputy Commissioners that those institutions which have not yet applied for registration, should be contacted and their registration ensured by July 20, she said.
Police verification of staff working in these institutions would be completed in all districts by July 10, she said, adding, complete registration application for all such institutions with the report of the Deputy Commissioners was expected by July 13.
Nearly 120 people, including children and women, were rescued from the house after carrying out a surprise raid on May 9.
