About 1,730 posts of associate professors will be filled soon to put an end to a shortage of faculty members in Haryana's education department, state minister Ram Bilas Sharma said today.
"For this purpose a requisition letter has already been sent to the Haryana Public Service Commission. Apart from this, appointment letters of 3,000 guest teachers in school education have been reissued and the rest would be issued within the next two days," the state education minister said.
After signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Higher Education Department and O P Jindal Global University here, Sharma said the government has laid emphasis on imparting value education at the primary level itself.
"Special attention is being paid to ensuring maintenance of cleanliness in schools and separate toilets have been constructed for girls and boys in more than 80 per cent schools," Sharma added.
On special 'girdawari' (assessment of crop loss) being conducted by the government for estimating losses due to crop damage by Whitefly and other pests, the Minister said the report is almost ready and would be presented during the Winter Session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha starting tomorrow.
Regarding the sittings of the Assembly Session, he said that this could be increased keeping in view the works of the Vidhan Sabha, but only with the approval of the Business Advisory Committee.
He said this is the first time after 30 years that a third Assembly Session is being called in the same year, which reflects the government's commitment.
