As many as 29 such clusters have been identified for establishment of CFCs under the Cluster Development Scheme.
While stating this here today, an official spokesperson said that a Diagnostic Study Report has been prepared in respect of 19 clusters and submitted to the Central government for their appraisal out of which six clusters at Bahadurgarh, Panipat, Sonipat and Karnal have been approved for setting up CFCs by the Central government.
The initiative is oriented to build social capital so as to strengthen collective action which would provide spill-over effects of economies of scale, credit facilitation, technology upgradation, brand building and marketing, he said.
A sum of Rs 3 crore has been received from Central government as an upfront contribution for establishment of CFCs in Footwear Cluster at Bahadurgarh and Print and Pack Cluster at Karnal, he added.

The spokesman said that the Union Ministry of MSMEs is also setting up Tool Room or Technology Centre Projects at IMT Rohtak on 19.8 acres of land and an Industrial Growth Centre Saha on 10 acres land with investment of more than Rs 100 crore in each of these projects.
The technology centre would also assist around 1,000 MSMEs by way of design and development of sophisticated moulds, dies, tools and equipment as well as consultancy services in related fields.
