The state government is already paying the highest price of sugarcane to the farmers.
Speaking on the concluding day of the winter session of the state assembly, the chief minister said in view of the beginning of the wheat sowing season, supply of electricity for agriculture sector would be increased from the existing eight hours to 10 hours per day up to November 15, 2017.
Khattar thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for hiking the MSP of wheat.
Following the resolution passed by the gram panchayats, he said the state government had renamed Mustafabad village in district Yamunanagar as Saraswati Nagar, village Ganda in Fatehabad as Ajit Nagar, and village Kinnar in Hisar as Gaibipur.
Similarly, village Chamar Khera in Hisar would be renamed as Sunder Khera, Garhi Sampla in Rohtak as Ch. Chottu Ram Nagar, and Panjokhra as Panjokhra Sahib. The state has forwarded a proposal to this effect to the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, he added.
Later, Khattar said 11 bills were passed unanimously during the three-day winter session of Haryana Vidhan Sabha which concluded here today.
