Haryana offers rebate for paying property tax on time

To encourage people to pay property tax on time, the Haryana government has provided rebate in certain cases.
Urban Local Body Minister Kavita Jain today said one-time rebate of 30 per cent will be given to those who clear all their arrears for 2010-11 to 2012-13, 10 per cent for those who pay their total tax by July 31 of that assessment year, and 10 per cent for those who deposited their due tax for 2015-16 up to September 30, 2015.
In case arrears are paid up to September 30, 2015, one-time waiver of interest on arrears of property tax pending since 2010-11 to 2014-15 has also been allowed, she added.
The Haryana government has also approved in-principle the proposal for setting up of Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for operation of City Bus Service in Gurgaon.
That apart, the Municipal Council of Sonepat has been upgraded as a Municipal Corporation, and the Municipal Committee, Barara, has been constituted during this period, she added.
To strengthen fire-fighting services, 74 fire vehicles, 20 foam crash tenders, nine water tenders and five rescue tenders have been deployed at various fire stations.
