The move is proposed to be launched after the voluntary disclosure scheme (VDS), under which customers were offered regularisation of their unauthorised power load without paying any fine, ends on September 30, a spokesperson of Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) said.

Unauthorised extension of load is the main reason of local interruptions in power supply and it has been declared as an offence under the Electricity Act, he said.

Additional load also causes problems in the augmentation of power capacity, the spokesperson said.

He said bifurcation of all overloaded feeders of 11 KV level having more than 200 ampere load is proposed to check interruptions in power supply.

Under the proposal, renovation work will be done and additional distribution transformers will be installed, he said adding that a proposal in this regard will be sent within 15 days.

The spokesperson said capacity of complaint centres will be increased for speedy disposal of grievances.
