Haryana procures 57 lakh tonnes wheat till date

The wheat procurement in Haryana during the current season has surpassed last year's arrival as 57,99,958 tonnes of the crop has been procured until today by state agencies against 56,68,773 tonnes on this day last year.
Out of the total procurement this year, which began last month, 57,99,833 tonnes has been procured by the government agencies and the remaining by the traders, an official release said.
Over 17.17 lakh tonnes of wheat was procured by the Food and Supplies Department, 25.05 lakh tonnes by HAFED, 6.13 lakh tonnes by Agro, 9.57 lakh tonnes by Haryana Warehousing Corporation, about 5,800 tonnes by Confed and 125 tonnes by the traders, the release said.
Sirsa district was leading with over 8.03 lakh tonnes of wheat arrival in the grain markets followed by Karnal at over 6.35 lakh tonnes.
