"I congratulate the players of Haryana who have won medals at the Commonwealth Games. So far, players from Haryana have won eight medals including three gold and five silver," Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said addressing a press conference after chairing a meeting of the State Cabinet here.
He said that on their return from CWG, the government would hold a function to honour them.
He announced that winners of gold, silver and bronze medals at the Commonwealth Games, the award money has been raised to Rs one crore, Rs 50 lakh and Rs 25 lakh from Rs 15 lakh, Rs 10 lakh and Rs five lakh respectively.
He said that for Olympics, the state government has already announced to give Rs five crore for winner of gold, Rs three crore for silver and Rs two crore for bronze medal.

He said that Sajeev Rajput, an outstanding shooter, has been appointed as Inspector in Police Department.
Constable Ramesh Kumar, Kabbadi player has also been appointed as an Inspector while Anil Kumar, wrestler, has been appointed as Inspector.
Parmila Devi has been appointed as Sub Inspector in recognition of her outstanding contribution in the field of sports as a Kabbadi player.
