Haryana signs pact with GAIL

Haryana government today signed a pact with public sector GAIL for development of natural gas distribution infrastructure in identified urban areas and cities in the state.
Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation Managing Director Vineet Garg on behalf of the state government and Executive Director Marketing A K Jana on behalf of GAIL signed the MoU in the presence of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar here today, said an official release.
The Chief Minister said the state government plans to get studies conducted for the identification of viable geographical areas in the major towns or districts of the state such as Ambala, Hisar, Rohtak, Karnal and Sirsa.
After identification of the geographical areas or charge areas, Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) would be approached to initiate bidding process in those areas where pipelines for natural gas connectivity are available.
GAIL has almost completed the gas pipelines infrastructure in Bawal and Yamunanagar industrial estates and the natural gas would be available to the industrial estates with effect from December 2015.
