Haryana government today said the work on much-delayed 136 km Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway will be allotted to another company to ensure its completion.
"The work on KMP Expressway will start soon as the project will be given to another company for completion," Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said here today.
Launched with much fanfare in year 2006, the ambitious Rs 1,900 crore KMP expressway projectwas to be commissioned by July 2009. So far, 68 per cent work on this project has been completed.
The concessionaire, a consortium of DS Constructions and Apollo Enterprises, could not complete the project within stipulated time despite being given several deadlines.
This ambitious project is aimed to make a loop around the national capital region (NCR) to provide high-speed connectivity and decongest New Delhi.
The KMP Expressway starts from the NH 1 near Kundli (Sonepat) and joins Delhi-Faridabad-Agra NH 2 near Palwal.
