Haryana to launch programme to improve students learning

Haryana government today said it will launch a programme within three months to improve learning outcomes of students in about 9,000 primary schools across the state.
Apart from this, moral education would also be introduced as a part of the curriculum in the schools.
This was informed during the 43rd meeting of the Executive Committee of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary D S Dhesi here.
During the meeting, the Chief Secretary issued orders to get a survey conducted to identify the reasons for students dropping out of schools.
It was informed in the meeting that dedicated academic cells would be established in Directorate of Elementary Education and Directorate of Secondary Education for implementation and monitoring of all academic initiatives.
To enhance usability and usage of the academic monitoring system among officers, a mobile app would also be launched.

Additional Chief Secretary (School Education) Keshni Anand Arora said for the academic session 2016-17, the curriculum of primary classes has been modified and the textbooks improved.
She said moral education has been included in the curriculum of classes VI to VIII and the textbooks of this subject would be delivered to the schools by April 30.
Similarly, work is underway on the textbooks of moral education for Classes IX and X, she added.
She said according to the latest National Achievements Survey conducted by NCERT, Haryana is one of the three states which have shown an improvement in learning outcomes of the students.
