Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today denied the possibility of holding the state Assembly elections along with the Lok Sabha elections, saying his government would complete its tenure.
Talking to reporters after a cabinet meeting, Hooda said a full-fledged budget for 2014-15 would be presented in the upcoming session of the Assembly scheduled from February 21.
Hooda said the length of the session would be decided by the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) of the Assembly.
In reply to a question whether Congress in Haryana would contest Lok Sabha elections on its own, Hooda replied in the affirmative, saying the party would contest elections all ten Lok Sabha seats in the state.
On being asked about the Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) plans in Haryana, Hooda said, "The common man is with Congress whereas 'kuch khas log' (some VIPs) have taken over AAP."
When asked about the possibility of a woman minister becoming the president of Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC), Hooda said there was no restriction and anybody could be the president of HPCC.
Phool Chand Mullana is the president of HPCC now, and in future also, anyone, whether a man or a woman, from Congress could be its president, he said.
