"This centrally sponsored scheme would soon be started in all district hospitals," he said.
He said that an Objective Assessment Criteria has been prepared for its success.
While the best district hospital would be awarded Rs 50 lakh, second best hospital would be awarded Rs 20 lakh.
Besides, any other district hospital in the state, scoring more than 70 per cent on the assessment, would be eligible to receive a cash incentive of Rs 3 lakh, he said.

Under this programme, all district hospitals were being directed to work according to the criteria of the Centre.
Next year onwards, the initiative would be extended to Sub Divisional Hospitals, Community Health Centres and Primary Health Centres in the state, he said.
The minister said that the health related criteria set by the Centre included landscaped surroundings, clean drains, well-maintained buildings, disposal of street and general waste, scientific management of biomedical waste, robust infection control practices, asepsis inside the operation theatres and labour rooms.
