At a meeting of the state cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar here today, it was decided that a Kesh Kala and Kaushal Vikas Board will be set up in Haryana.
The board will suggest steps for overall development of those engaged in the occupation.
In recent times, the art of cutting and grooming hair or beard and nails has undergone a tremendous change due to new scientific techniques being adopted in the grooming industry, it said.
"With modernisation and technological advancement, this profession has become highly capital intensive. But the 'Nai' community has not been able to upgrade its skills and lacks adoption of latest techniques and scientific machinery," the release said.

The board will consist of nine members, including the chairperson and the vice-chairperson.
The Director of the Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Department will be be the ex-officio member of the board.
