Presiding over a review meeting of the Medical Education and Research Department here, Khattar asked the officials to ensure that equipment in all medical colleges is in working condition so as to facilitate the patients and said not even a single machine should be out of order.
The chief minister, as per an official release, also sought a list of medical equipment which has been lying defunct in medical colleges.
Khattar said his predecessors in the government had set up a trauma centre at the university but had not sanctioned required number of posts causing inconvenience to patients.
He directed that responsibility of those concerned should be fixed in this case.

At the meeting, Health Minister Anil Vij told the chief minister that a number of institutes including medical colleges, dental colleges and nursing colleges has been granted 'no objection certificate (NOC)' by the erstwhile government after May 16, 2014.
The chief minister said his government would promote ayurveda in the state.
