Haryana to strengthen Essential Lab Diagnostic Services

In a move to improve healthcare facilities in the state, Haryana government has decided to strengthen the Essential Laboratory Diagnostic Services in various healthcare institutions.
The strengthening of services would be undertaken in a phased manner, state's Health Minister Rao Narender Singh said in a release here today.
The Health Minister said, efforts would be made to strengthen services in the recently upgraded seven health institutions.
In order to ensure the provision of quality and minimum benchmark in laboratory diagnostic services, a State Laboratory Cell would be constituted in the office of Director General Health Services (DGHS), he said adding, it would be headed by the DGHS and the nodal officer would either be a senior pathologist, a micro-biologist or a bio-chemist.
The improved Essential Laboratory Diagnostic Services will include well equipped 24x7 laboratories, blood bank and radiology support, Singh added.
