Owners of transport vehicles in Haryana would soon be able to pay the road tax online as the state transport department is going to launch e-payment service.
Under e-payment service, the motor vehicle owners would be able to pay the quarterly road tax of their transport vehicles through the website of the department using their internet banking account.
The citizens depositing any fee or tax in the offices of Registering and Licensing Authorities for obtaining various services would be sent back an SMS acknowledging receipt of the amount, Haryana Transport Commissioner, Sumita Misra said.
She was addressing a workshop-cum-training programme organised by the Department for the Secretaries of Regional Transport Authorities (RTAs) and their staff regarding implementation of the 'Vahan and Saarthi' Software, and e-Services here today.
"Vahan and Saarthi software has been implemented in all the 79 Registering and Licensing Authorities in the state," the transport commissioner said.
The additional services available in these softwares would now also be provided by the Registering and Licensing Authorities, Misra said, adding that the department has also prepared its website--haryanatransport.Gov.In--which offers informational and functional services to the citizens.
"The citizens could refer to the website to know the procedures for registering motor vehicles, issue of driving licenses and grant of permit. Various types of forms required for obtaining services from the Transport Department could also be downloaded from the website," she added.
