Pointing out that he has been appointed as the Pradesh congress President by AICC President Sonia Gandhi and Vice-president Rahul Gandhi as he (Sudheeran) is a congressman, Sudheeran said "I was not appointed on reservation' benefit', he said.
"I am a congressman from top to bottom. I have respect for all," he said.
Sudheeran's failure to meet NSS General Secretary Sukumaran Nair, when he went to the outfit's headquarters to pay homage to Mannnathu Padmanabhan, founding father of the organisation, on his 'samadhi day' on February 25, had triggered a row.
Replying to the reception accorded to him by Kozhikode District Congress Committee after he became the PCC chief, Sudheeran asked party workers to work unitedly to bring victory for the Congress and UDF in the Lok Sabha polls.

Sudheeran said "the doors of congress party are open and all those who accept the policies of the congress party are welcome to it."
Former KPCC President and state Home Minister Chennithala alleged that there were differences of opinion in LDF and the front was facing a political debacle.
Minister of state for Home, Mullappally Ramachandran claimed UDF will more seats than what it did in the previous polls.
In the 2009 polls, UDF won 16 of 20 seats Lok Sabha seats in the state. Congress won 13 of the 17 seats it contested, and its allies won all three seats that they contested.
