There is a need for innovative and citizen centric attitude among newly inducted employees to ensure good governance, a senior PMO official said today.
Addressing a group of Assistants, Additional Principal Secretary in the Prime Minister's Officer P K Mishra called for new ideas from the young employees.
Mishra has called for innovative and citizen centric attitude among the new recruits, a press release issued by Department of Personnel and Training said.
He expressed happiness that about 33 per cent of total candidates are women, which would help in bringing a fresh perspective and sensitivity to a host of new emerging areas.
Mishra was addressing the inaugural session of the foundation training programme for direct recruit Assistants in the central government at the Institute of Secretariat Training and Management here.
Sanjay Kothari, Secretary in Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), said that the training programme has been designed in such a way that the trainee will be exposed to the life in the villages.
"The trainee will stay in the villages and will have hands on experience on government schemes. They will also be given training of making office work simple through use of Information and Communication Technologies tools," he said.
The Secretary also hoped that on completion of training programme, the new recruits will have more insight about the government procedure and will be able to contribute in a meaningful way towards decision making process.
