Havildar shoots himself dead

A Havildar of Birsanagar police station here shot himself dead and fired at and injured a Munshi of the police staiion in the campus, police said today.
The havildar Hareshwar Ram was on duty with the officer-in-charge of the station Bir Singh Munda before he had taken a break and had come to the police station last evening, police said adding that Ram had suddenly opened fire injuring the Munshi on duty, Akhileshwar Dubey before he shot himself dead with his service Insas rifle.
Ram, a resident of Buxar district of Bihar, was immediately taken to Tata Main Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead, police said.

"Ram was with me before he had taken a break and came to the police station before he was about to report for duty in view of the Chhat Festival, Munda said describing the incident as unfortuanate.
Police has informed his family members while Dubey, who had splinter injury near his ear, was admitted in Tata Main Hospital. PTI BS CR
