The plant, which would be made functional next year, would generate income of about Rs 12-15 crore every year and in about six years, the mill would complete the cost of the project with its resources, Haryana Minister of State for Cooperation Manish Kumar Grover said.
He said that a 24 MW power plant had already been set up in the Shahabad cooperative sugar mill.
The plant will benefit the farmers of the area and will utilise waste material generated by the mill.
These have been sent to Haryana State Federation of Cooperative Sugar Mills for further action.
