Anna Hazare meets associates; discusses march against land bill

Hazare said that the march may take two-and-a-half-months to reach New Delhi from Sevagram

Anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare today held discussions with his associates over his planned pad-yatra (foot-march) from Sevagram here to Delhi to oppose the land bill.

Hazare, who arrived here last night, told reporters that no political leader would be allowed on the stage at Ram Leela ground in Delhi where the march would conclude.

Later, he was closeted with his associates in a meeting at Yatra Nivas near Bapu Kutti in Sevagram, where Mahatma Gandhi's ashram stands.

Hazare told reporters that the march may take two-and-a-half-months to reach New Delhi from Sevagram.

"Violence would not be allowed at any cost. Otherwise the march would be suspended," he said.

He is expected to give further details about the march after the meeting.
