Graft case: Kerala HC adjourns CBI's revision petition to July 14

The court had stated that CBI had failed to prove the charges of conspiracy and corruption against the accused

Kerala High Court today adjourned to July 14 the revision petition filed by CBI challenging the discharge of CPI(M) state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan and six others in a graft case.

When the petitions filed by CBI and 'Crime Magazine' editor T P Nandakumar came up before Justice K Ramakrishnan, he adjourned the case to July 14 as it was found that the notice issued to some of the accused had not been served so far.

Earlier, the state government had impleaded itself in the case.

The CBI special court had in November last year discharged Vijayan and other accused in the SNC Lavalin case which had caused a loss of Rs 374.50 crore to the state exchequer.

The court had stated that CBI had failed to prove the charges of conspiracy and corruption against the accused.

The case relates to alleged irregularities in renovation of three hydel projects in the state by SNC Lavalin, a Canadian company, when Vijayan was Power Minister in 1995-97.
