The suspended BJD MP is now lodged in a Bhubaneswar jail after he was arrested by CBI in November last year in connection with his alleged role in the scam.
A Division Bench of acting Chief Justice Pradeep K. Mohanty and Justice Biswajit Mohanty granted the interim relief to the MP and ordered that he be escorted to Parliament by CBI.
It further ordered that after attending the session for a day in order to retain his membership, he should be brought back to jail custody by March 23.
Parliamentary law stipulates that if a member fails to attend the sittings for at least a day in 60 days, then his or her membership would be terminated.
