A Division Bench, headed by acting Chief Justice Virendra Singh, attached the two under-construction buildings and handed these over to the Lakes and Waterways Development Authority till further order.
The Bench was hearing a Public Interest Litigation, filed by lawyer Tahir Iqbal, alleging violation of the Srinagar Master Plan around Dal Lake which was threatening the existence of the waterbody.
The next hearing in the case will be held on June 9.
The State Human Rights Commission is also conducting separate proceedings over these constructions.
Taking suo motto cognisance of a newspaper report, the Commission had issued notices to concerned departments to file a report by May 28.
The newspaper report had claimed a senior official of the state government was constructing two bungalows in the Green belt area while the authorities were not allowing even minor repairs to decades-old buildings in the vicinity of these new constructions.
