The HC also directed the concerned authorities to constitute a special team for ensuring compliance of the order and submit its report on the next date of hearing on October 11.

A division bench comprising acting Chief Justice Amitava Lala and Justice P K S Baghel passed the order on a Public Interest Litigation filed by a social organization Brij Lifeline Welfare Society which sought directions for putting a check on rising pollution levels in the temple town as well as the river Yamuna that flows nearby.

The court also directed the Rajya Vidhik Seva Pradhikaran to launch an awareness campaign so that residents and pilgrims could be dissuaded from practises which contribute to the steady rise in pollution levels.
