HC declines to quash proceedings against AG before bar council
Press Trust of India Kochi The Kerala High Court today declined to interfere in the plea of Advocate General, K P Dandapani, to quash the proceedings against him before the state Bar Council, alleging professional misconduct.
Justice P R Ramachandra Menon, before whom the petition came up, accepted the Council's plea that it was following the normal procedures in AG's case also.
The Bar Council had earlier sought for remarks of the AG on a complaint filed by Advocate J S Ajit Kumar alleging that the AG had misused his official position to secure the post of standing counsel for his son in several PSUs.
The Court said the Bar Council did not go into merits of the case but had only sought for remarks of AG.
